Andrea Beck is a registered social worker who counsells in private practice and for Family Services York Region. She obtained her Honours degree in Psychology at York University in 1996, and followed with her Masters of Social Work at the University of Toronto.

Her approach is strength based and client centered, incorporating various practice models such as cognitive-behavioural, narrative, or solution focused therapy that are appropriate to the client’s particular needs.

Andrea is a frequent speaker in Toronto area and York Region schools. She has been sent by World Literacy of Canada to schools from Newfoundland to Yukon, to motivate and challenge children and parents in struggling communities. Andrea has published fourteen children’s books that deal with friendship issues and her characters were made into a television show that aired on YTV and TVO. Andrea is also the mother of two grown children.
